LakeShore Music Launches
A Month
of Sundays -- A Chamber Music Series
LakeShore Music will begin a
pilot series of chamber music in the
TCA Lakeside Room every Sunday
afternoon in July. The concerts will
feature some of the finest chamber
music players in Southwest. Concerts
are from 3-5 p.m. Tickets are $25,
or all 4 concerts for $75. Tickets
will go on sale June 4 at the TCA
Box office. 480. 3502822. Here is
the schedule.
Musica Dolce -- July 5
A
performance of Medieval,
Renaissance, and Baroque music
evoking the spirit and pageantry of
an earlier age, 500 years before
Bach. The musicians will be playing
various period instruments,
including the viol da gamba, violin,
recorder, and krummhorn.

Piano for Four Hands -- July 12
Program will feature works for
clarinet, violin, and piano,
including the romantic Poulanc
violin sonata dedicated to the
memory of Federico Garcia Lorca,
contemporary settings of American
spirituals for clarinet, and vibrant
works for piano four hands.Larry

Bach to Ornstein -- Piano & Cello --
July 19
Program will feature diverse
virtuosic works for piano and cello,
spanning from Bach to the
contemporary composer Leo Ornstein,
one of the most remarkable talents
of the early 20th century. The
performers have a residency in
Banff, Canada, and are currently
performing throughout the West.

Music for Harp and Violin -- July 26
This program will
feature harpist
Lynne Aspnes, who is an
associate dean at ASU's Herberger
School of Music. An active performer
and teacher, Aspnes appears
frequently in solo recitals, chamber
music collaborations and as
orchestral soloist. With
VocalEssence (formerly the Plymouth
Music Series of Minnesota) Aspnes
has recorded on the Collins
Classics, CRI, ProArte, RCA Red Seal
and Virgin Classics labels, and with
organist John Walker and the choir
of the Riverside Church, New York,
for the Pro Organo label. As a guest
artist, Aspnes has appeared as guest
soloist and/or clinician for schools
of music and music festivals in
Colorado, California, Delaware,
Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas,
Michigan, New Jersey, Virginia,
Washington, and Paris,
France.
Joining Ms. Aspnes for the
concert is Atlanta Symphony
violinist,
Justin Bruns.
Assistant
Concertmaster with the Atlanta
Symphony, Mr. Bruns holds the
endowed Mary and Cherry Emerson
Chair. Before moving to Atlanta he
was assistant concertmaster of the
Colorado Symphony Orchestra and
served as concertmaster at the
Boulder Bach Festival. He has spent
summers at the Aspen Music Festival,
Beijing Music Festival, Music
Academy of the West, and BRAVO
Colorado, and he maintains his
affiliation as assistant
concertmaster with the Cabrillo
Contemporary Music Festival in Santa
Cruz, California.
